Hey there! ☺
I am Yook Kit Ow-Yeong, a beginning teacher that recently graduated from my Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) at the National Institute of Education (NIE) in Singapore. My teaching subjects are Biology (CS1) and Chemistry (CS2) at the secondary school level.
I created this website for two main reasons:
1) to document my journey in teaching and learning, and
2) to hopefully help a friend along his/her teaching journey
I am no perfect teacher but having almost burnt out from my studies, I thought this would be a fun side-quest for me. Ultimately, as long as at least one peer or junior benefit from my sharing, it is a success in my heart.

My Teaching Philosophy
My goal is to nurture students’ curiosity, empower them to achieve their fullest potential, and inspire them to contribute meaningfully to society, all while continuously learning from and supporting my fellow educators.
I believe that students should be given opportunities to learn Science through experiential learning and exploring real-life applications.
I believe that a positive teacher-student relationship (TSR) and positive discipline are crucial in influencing students to become better versions of themselves for our community and for the world.
