JOURNALLING & LIFE STUFF

Hi everyone,
I was a student teacher training to teach Biology and Chemistry at the secondary school level in Singapore. As a Science person, I never really imagined ever writing a blog because of how many words that would take. However, I just thought that since I only have one chance in life to to experience being a fresh student teacher, why not document it?
This actually all started upon completing my half-year untrained teaching stinct. This is a compulsory attachment that some student teachers in Singapore have to undergo before they begin formal training in the nation's only institute of education. It was a really fun and enriching experience, but I finished my year feeling tired and that something in my life was not quite at ease. After some reflection (thank you Ali Abdaal) that I had voluntarily done for the first time in my life, I gleaned quite a bit of insight, including why I was feeling so drained preparing to be a teacher and young adult. Hence, the idea of a blog was sparked in my mind as a way to just have fun documenting my trainee teacher life.
Of course, with the hectic nature of teacher training, the idea of writing a blog was chugged one side. After having felt like burning out for the first time in my life in my first semester, I realised how blessed I was to have friends who could relate to me and help me through these times. As I prepared for what is to come in the next semester, I chanced upon a senior's teaching portfolio (special thanks to Sabrina Tay) which I had found super duper useful even though it was from a few years back. While I scoured the internet for more of such teaching portfolios, I had troubled finding more of them.
After having had a restful and reflective holiday to prepare my headspace for the next semester, I finally found the intrinsic motivation to do up this blog and teaching portfolio.
Why did I start this blog:
I had always wanted to try journalling just for my self-introspection and finding greater meaning in my adult life.
I realised that I am only going to be a real fresh trainee teacher with no prior knowledge of educational pedagogy and too much experience as an educator once in my life so I want to document it.
Upon chatting with more trainees and experienced teachers, I realised that some of the problems I had faced were not unique to me. As such, I wish to be that online friend, or companion so that you know that you are not alone in your troubles and you can be a good teacher eventually :)
I hope that you benefit from of my sharings and to the junior reading this, I just want to say you can do it.
Jiayouus! ଘ(੭˃ᴗ˂)੭
